The 2027 Kia K4 Gets Black Wheels, a Red Cabin and Little Else
The 2027 Kia K4 sedan starts at $22,390 and the K4 Hatchback at $25,090, and the only changes for the new model year are a set of black wheels and a red interior option.
The 2027 Kia K4 sedan starts at $22,390 and the K4 Hatchback at $25,090, and the only changes for the new model year are a set of black wheels and a red interior option. The 18-inch black alloys arrive in the GT-Line Premium Package, and the red cabin can now be paired with Steel Gray paint on GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo sedans.
The sedan is sold in LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo trims, while the hatchback skips the two base grades and comes as an EX, GT-Line or GT-Line Turbo. Both body styles keep the choice of a naturally aspirated engine or the 1.6-liter turbo, and every price excludes a $1,245 destination charge.
Kia published the full list in a September 30 release, which pointed readers to its specification pages rather than describing any mechanical change, a sign of how little the car has moved since the current generation arrived.
| Trim | Body | MSRP |
|---|---|---|
| LX | Sedan | $22,390 |
| LXS | Sedan | $23,590 |
| EX | Sedan | $24,590 |
| GT-Line | Sedan | $25,590 |
| GT-Line Turbo 1.6L | Sedan | $28,490 |
| EX | Hatchback | $25,090 |
| GT-Line | Hatchback | $26,090 |
| GT-Line Turbo 1.6L | Hatchback | $28,990 |

The hatchback costs exactly $500 more than the matching sedan at every trim, so an EX hatch is $25,090 against $24,590 for the EX sedan, and the turbocharged GT-Line hatch is $28,990 against $28,490. The GT-Line Premium Package is where the new black wheels live on both bodies, and the red-over-Steel-Gray combination is a sedan-only option on the two GT-Line grades.
The K4 heads into the new model year on a hot streak. Kia sold 12,658 K4s in September, up 43 percent from 8,829 a year earlier, and the car’s year-to-date total of 111,212 makes it Kia’s second-best seller behind the Sportage, according to the company’s September sales release. That release also lists the 2026 K4 among Kia’s five models with the IIHS 2026 Top Safety Pick+ rating.

The hatchback picked up a trophy of its own a day before pricing came out, when the Northwest Automotive Press Association named the 2026 K4 Hatchback its Best Value at the Drive Revolution awards, with judges citing the standard 1.6-liter turbo, the eight-speed automatic and the design, per Kia’s September 29 release. The K4 competes with the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Nissan Sentra in the compact class.
The HyundaiHQ Take
A carryover year is the right call for a car that is up 43 percent and already holds a Top Safety Pick+. The one thing worth watching is the hatchback, which Kia still prices $500 above the sedan while reserving its cheapest two trims for the four-door; with Corolla and Civic hatchbacks both on sale, a sub-$24,000 K4 hatch would do more for Kia than any wheel package.
