Every 2027 Kia EV9 Land Is Now a Nightfall Edition

The 2027 Kia EV9 Land comes standard with the Nightfall Edition package, which makes the blacked-out, torque-boosted version of the three-row EV the only way to buy the trim.
The Land now lists at $69,990 before the $1,645 destination charge, $1,090 more than a 2026 Land without the package but $500 less than a 2026 Land Nightfall Edition. Kia is also darkening the Wind one rung below, with black 19-inch wheels and gloss black exterior garnishes added for 2027 and Wolf Gray paint joining its color list.
Kia confirmed the change in its October 27 pricing announcement, which put the Land’s torque gain and the standard Nightfall package in the headline ahead of the prices. The package’s boost function raises torque from 379 lb-ft to 516 lb-ft, a 36 percent increase by Kia’s count, and the Nightfall cabin adds a black headliner and a unique stitching pattern on black synthetic leather seats. The other four trims change by $90 to $190.

The Nightfall Edition arrived on the 2026 Land, according to Kia’s May 2025 release, as a package of exclusive 20-inch gloss black wheels, black badging, gloss black trim and exterior details, a Roadrider Brown paint available on no other EV9 and an exclusive seat stitching pattern, offered with six or seven seats. The Land’s Kia-estimated range of 283 miles carries over, and Electrek notes the top GT-Line makes 379 hp and 516 lb-ft, so a Nightfall Land now matches the GT-Line’s peak torque for $2,000 less.
For buyers, the practical effect is that the EV9 range now splits into two visual families. The Light trims keep the standard look, while the Wind and Land both go dark from the factory, and the Land does so with the performance mode that used to be the main reason to pay for the package. Kia has not said whether a non-Nightfall Land will return, and the release treats the change as a value move rather than a trim deletion.
The HyundaiHQ Take
This is a smart way to raise a price. Nightfall was clearly the Land most people were ordering, and bundling it lets Kia lift the trim by $1,090 while telling customers they are saving $500, which is both true and a little convenient. The loser is the buyer who wanted a Land in a light interior or without black wheels, because that choice is gone, and that is a strange thing to take away from a $70,000 family SUV. The torque boost is real and the package looks good, so most shoppers will not mind, but Kia should be honest that the plain Land has been quietly retired rather than improved.
