The 2027 Kia Sorento starts at $32,590, and every one of its ten gas trims costs exactly $200 more than it did for 2026.

The increase runs from the base LX through the $47,990 X-Pro SX-Prestige, and the $1,495 destination charge stays put, so a three-row SUV that is selling 37 percent better than a year ago goes into the new model year with the price of a tank of gas added to each sticker. The only other change Kia lists is a new paint color, Jade Black Green, which replaces Jungle Green.

Kia announced the pricing on October 1 and described the changes as minimal, with the model carrying over several of its 2026 updates. The new green "has performed well on the new Telluride," Kia says, and is being extended to the Sorento for that reason. The 2026 prices below come from Kia’s September 2025 release:

Trim2027 MSRP2026 MSRP
Sorento LX$32,590$32,390
Sorento S FWD$35,490$35,290
Sorento S AWD$37,490$37,290
Sorento EX FWD$38,690$38,490
Sorento EX AWD$40,190$39,990
Sorento SX$42,490$42,290
Sorento X-Line EX$42,990$42,790
Sorento X-Line SX$44,290$44,090
Sorento X-Line SX-Prestige$46,990$46,790
Sorento X-Pro SX-Prestige$47,990$47,790

Prices exclude the $1,495 destination charge.

The equipment story was written last year. The 2026 update made Terrain Mode standard on every all-wheel-drive Sorento, added gloss black bumper and grille trim to the X-Line and X-Pro, fitted a new leather-trimmed steering wheel with hands-on detection, made Bose audio standard on the X-Line EX and SX, and gave the EX a Premium Package with a panoramic roof, Bose audio and second-row captain’s chairs. All of that carries into 2027 unchanged, and the gas Sorento remains one of the Kia models assembled in West Point, Georgia.

The $200 looks restrained next to the Sorento’s sales. Kia’s September sales release shows 8,939 Sorentos sold in the month, up 37 percent from 6,502, and 77,205 for the year against 74,012, with the Sorento Hybrid alone up 112 percent in September. The 2026 Sorento built after September 2025 also holds the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating. The 2027 Sorento Hybrid was priced separately two weeks later, from $39,090, and got a new X-Line EX trim in the process.

The HyundaiHQ Take

A $200 increase on a carryover SUV that is up 37 percent is Kia leaving money on the table, and that is a good sign for buyers. The Sorento sells because it is the three-row that fits in a garage and undercuts a Toyota Grand Highlander by a wide margin, and Kia clearly does not want to disturb that formula while the Telluride and Sorento Hybrid are carrying the brand to record months. The green paint is a nice touch, but the real news is what did not change: the X-Pro still lands under $48,000, and there is still nothing else in the segment that offers that much truck for the money.
